Click image to view GalleryCongo Blue was approached by the Ascot team to design and produce a catwalk for the inaugural Royal Ascot Fashion. As Royal Ascot is the centrepiece of the British Summer Social Calendar and the ultimate stage for latest fashions, where better to showcase some of the very best designers in the world today?
The challenge was to build a catwalk on the third floor of a marquee! The design comprised a 15 metre long catwalk with a large custom-printed back wall. The set and staging were finished to a very high standard, down to the special aluminium edging for the stage.
To cope with glass windows along one side of the marquee and rigging restrictions, a simple central truss was hung and mounted with our stock of Source 4 Pars for lighting, while four GAE 1202’s speakers were flown to provide clear sound down the length of the catwalk. A simple projector/laptop combination was used to project clothing logos onto the rear set wall.
