Intimate London Body & Beach
Olympia London, July 2007

After lots of experimentation, we constructed this from translucent polycarbonate and aluminium and lit it with a quantity of Parnes and Chroma Q scrollers. To achieve an even colour ‘wash’ we used white curtains in the rear to reflect the coloured light up the columns.
The location for the stage was under the balcony area at Olympia, reducing the ambient light slightly, but limiting the build to a maximum height of 4metres. Using our stocks of Astralite truss, we built a large ground-supported structure on which to hang the lighting and sound equipment. It also held a tensioned white fabric ceiling, which proved great for hiding the unsightly pipe work under the balcony structure.
The rest of the lighting was kept fairly simple, using Source Four Pars to wash the catwalk and a few moving head spots for gobo projection onto the set wall.
The addition of a ‘one off’ special show including the Model Sophie Anderton kept things interesting as we added a pair of plasma screens and DVD to run video throughout the show.
