Congo Blue were asked by television presenter David Domoney, resident gardener for ITV’s This Morning to provide a fashion catwalk for a new feature at the show – Catwalk in Bloom.

Horticulture provides inspiration for fashion designers. Many leading designers consider plants to be an integral part of their design process, incorporating plant colours, textures and patterns into their clothing and accessory ranges. RHS flower shows set the fashion for the gardening industry and Catwalk in Bloom is a celebration of this.

David Domoney designed his own superb range of real living clothes made from fresh flowers and plants, as well as creating the first ever plant catwalk.

This was designed by CDB based on a standard 12 metre catwalk with a large format printed back-wall. Set in a marquee, rigging was limited to 25kg a point, so a simple central Astralite truss was flown loaded with Source 4 pars. Sound was provided by our GAE system.

Catwalk in Bloom featured eight shows each day with two different themes - the Fashion Show alternating with the Plant Fashion Show.
