Congo blue were approached by Brand Events to provide a fashion catwalk and music stage for ‘La Dolce Vita’ - a true celebration of the best Italian Lifestyle - at London’s Olympia.
The catwalk design consisted of a simple stage, backed with a white drape and divided with six pillars. These were constructed from polycarbonate in our warehouse, with MDF 'ribs' custom manufactured. Each pillar was lit with colour changers using our LED Ultra-bright Pars, mounted top and bottom.
The rest of the catwalk was lit with white light from our stock of Source 4 Pars. Robe 250 spots and Coemar Pro-wash’s were used as effects lighting with a further two Studio Due City Colours used to colour wash the upstage area. Logos and presentations were projected onto the set from a Christie LX45 projector.
Sound was reproduced using 4 stacks of our standard GAE system.
The music stage was a small stage to be used for piano recitals through to jazz bands as well as presentations on ‘how to score with women, Italian style!’
An intimate design was created by surrounding the raised stage with a 4 metre high, ground supported Astralite truss frame. Red swagging laid across the roof added an Italian touch.
Sound was reproduced using our new stock of HK C112’s speakers and Tannoy Subs, mixed through our Allen and Heath GL2800 desk. We also provided all microphones, multi-cores, monitors and outboard equipment from in-house our stock.
Lighting for this stage was provided by Robe spots and Coemar washes, with white front lighting from our Source 4 Pars.
All designs and production management for La Dolce Vita, plus crew and equipment were provided by Congo Blue Design.
