For the second year running Congo Blue Design were asked to provide the catwalk for the charity's annual Fashion Show - except this year it was on the 4th floor at London's Café Royal.
Hosted by Gaby Logan and featuring a plethora of sporting celebrities the event was built, rehearsed, run and broken down in one long day!
Due to the load-in restrictions, all of the production elements were designed to fit in the 2m by 2m goods lift. A catwalk was designed to fit under the venue's balcony, with a white pleated drape creating a back wall. This was lit using Congo Blue's LED colour 'bricks'. Further effect lighting was provided by 8 Robe spots.
Ceiling height restrictions meant we were unable to fly truss for the front lighting, so we placed ‘Sun Strip’ battens down the sides of the catwalk to up-light the models, with a further pair of fresnels to wash the catwalk from the front.
Sound reproduction was provided by 4 stacks of our GAE with our new HK CT108 for in-fills. Basic video content was presented using two of LX45 projectors on 10’ by 6’ screens with two further 50” plasmas further down the room.
All crew, logistics, design and production were provided by Congo Blue Design.
