Hampton Court Flower Show 2009
Hampton Court Palace, July 2009
A fashion show at a flower show? It must be time for Hampton Court again!
Congo Blue were once again approached by GMTV’s David Domoney to build a runway at the Hampton Court Flower Show, in the Bloom marquee.
The catwalk was to feature clothes derived from plants as well as scenes featuring stylish plants.
A simple 12m long catwalk was built with a wide upstage area. This was backed by simple but stylish black set panels finished with the client's branding. Further set panels were used to cover the back of the marquee, creating the backstage infrastructure.
Only a basic lighting rig could be flown due to the weight restrictions of the marquee, so a ‘T’ of Astralite truss was used, loaded with Source 4 pars. A selection of LED Colour Bricks were used for further colour washing effects.
Sound reproduction was provided by Congo Blue's GAE system and all crew, project management and logistics were provided by the Congo Blue team.
