Viyella Show 2009
Mary Ward Hall, London, August 2009
Click image to view Gallery Viyella is a clothing brand with decades of history that has recently been given a new lease of life under Hawes and Curtis. Congo Blue Design were invited by Clare from Doll to build a catwalk and the job soon grew into a full conference with Fashion Show Finale!
With the event on the first floor and no lift (until next year!) all equipment had to be carried up the stairs and set up ready for a 9.30am start.
The set was simple but effective with a central screen trimmed in aluminium and two baffle walls to the sides. Congo Blue built a 9m x 2m catwalk onto the existing venue stage and carpeted everything with white to provide a cohesive feel.
The set was up-lit with LED pars and front lit with 4 wind-up stands loaded with as many lights as could be powered from the wall sockets!
The sound was provided by a pair of lectern mics and radio booms, presented to the audience through 4 CT108s and a pair of our GAE subs. Everything was hung on stands due to the short rig time and lack of flying available, but the result was a crystal clear sound, with plenty of ummph for the fashion show
This show fitted in perfectly between Pure and Moda and we look forward to helping out on next year's show!
