Style in the City 09
The Mailbox, Birmingham, September 2009
Click image to view Gallery Organised by Brand Events, Congo Blue's contribution was to build the main Catwalk Feature for Birmingham's Style in the City Event. This was constructed within a disused mail room sorting office, to give the visitors an unforgettable catwalk experience!
With no available rigging, the first requirement was to build a 12m square climbing leg truss system to support a full lighting system. Lighting comprised a dozen Robe 250AT moving head spots as well as a plethora of Source Four lights, UV canons. A 12 box distributed sound system was also flown (this was designed to give a maximum level of sound without upsetting the BBC live broadcasts happening continuously in the studios one floor above!)
This was also the first outing for half of Congo Blue's new video wall, (with the other half gainfully employed on London Fashion Week!)
The Event was hosted by Emma B and saw spontaneous acts from several up-coming pop stars!
As well as all the technical equipment for the catwalk, Congo Blue also provided additional fire exit stair cases, emergency lighting throughout the venue and electrical services for back stage and several exhibition stands.
