One of the first investments made in the early months was computer hardware and software. In specific the WYSIWYG design system that leads the industry for virtual reality and presentation simulations.

For those of you who have not encountered this system before, it allows our designs to be drawn up in CAD, giving detailed plans and schematics for contractors to follow. Further to this, it allows a 3 dimensional environment to be created where a client can be shown around the finished design in a virtual reality simulation. Thus enabling them to see and understand every part of the concept.

The simulation can then be controlled in terms of the lighting within it, every parameter of every lighting fixture within the design can be controlled in real time. Enabling us to pre-program the lighting for an event before the first piece of equipment even touches site, a huge saving on rental costs for pre-production and rehearsal periods.

The final level of the software enables the environment to be fully rendered to near photographic quality, not only allowing you to see how the design will look in ambient light, but to actually create the atmosphere of the show from a realistic and variable viewpoint.
